
Structural alterations to existing 1930’s building for construction of new flats and penthouse with underground parking. Work included cutting back existing balconies, forming new insitu concrete stairs to new floor, cutting back existing concrete car ramp plus widening to form easier access to car park. All work executed with noise restrictions as the Bombay Palace Restaurant on the ground floor remained opened during all structural works.
Structural & civil engineering works include:
- Remove roof covering including screed and insulation
- Design and install temporary supports to all concrete structural floor during structural alterations
- Construct new reinforced concrete lift pit
- Cast new reinforced concrete stairs from basement to ground floor & seventh to eight floor
- Diamond saw cut existing balconies and upstands
- Cut openings in floors for new extract fans
- Diamond saw cut 600mm of edge of car ramp
- Form new reinforced concrete walls to support existing concrete frame
- Extend existing car ramp to suite new layout

- Scabble back edge of retained balconies
